"We're gonna do some warm-ups, then we'll be up in the air"

As if moving alone to a new city wasn't already a little terrifying, I found out today, my first day of aerial, that we were going to go right up on trapeze. We learned how to do all sorts of so-called beginner maneuvers, and it was very disorienting, especially being upside down and getting instructions for someone standing below me. I had some difficulties figuring out left and right and up and down at first, but overall I think I did pretty well. I'm definitely not the best student in the class, but several students are taking the class for a second or even third time, so I'm not too concerned. Class left me very sore but also extremely excited for the next seven weeks!
