Before I let you in, I need secret KGB password. (It's vodka).

This week I got to attend a practice held for the players. I was only going to observe so I could learn some of the games, but being the awesome people they are, they (and my boss) let me play! We did a game of Jeopardy where you give an answer and the other player has to come up with the question. For instance, if you gave an answer of "12 tubas and a swimming pool" one could respond with "What is a marching band vacation?" or "What's in Bill Gates' basement?" Another game was "Movie Mash-Up" where you pick two movies and combine their scenes to form a new movie. You can also do it with books, comics, fairytales, etc. We picked Snow White and Noah and the Ark. Jonah Red Riding Hood was off to see his grandmother in the woods when God spoke to him. He said "Build a ship my son! You must find a lumberjack!" He went to grandma's house to find grandma (me) as a wolf who could talk. We set off to find a lumberjack, more hilarity ensued, hooray!
I also hosted three shows this weekend. Friday night was my boss' Family Reunion, so the pressure was on for me to be awesome. I decided the best way to do this was to throw on a shiny red cape and fur hat and become a Russian KGB agent. I wielded my accent and subtle threats of assassination by nuclear warfare like a champ, and often made groups give me a password before I allowed them entry. One middle-aged woman shouted "vodka!" and so the password was vodka for the duration of the evening. My boss came up to me after the show and said he was very impressed with my hosting. Job accomplished!
Today I worked the matinee, and decided to be Sherlock Holmes. Plaid jacket, British hunting cap, and mustache on my person, I proceeded to talk in a very quick British accent, proclaiming myself to be the incomparable Sherlock Holmes, and that I had lost Watson. I beseeched my guests to help me find him, but alas, he was lost, probably at sea or locked up behind enemy bars. Oh well. I'll find him soon eventually.

This is my last post for two weeks because I will be in EUROPE!!!!!  Next Thursday, I am seeing Billy Elliot in London's West End, so I will have theatre things to talk about when I return. We're touring London, Rome, and Dublin, and I could not be more excited! Instead of an over and out this time, given my pending trip, I will say:

Cheerio!
