Brownville Village Theatre

Hey everyone!

This summer I'm interning at Brownville Village Theatre in Brownville, NE a town of 145 people. The theatre, a converted church, holds 135. I would have posted earlier, but until today we haven't had internet, and we've been working everyday from 9 a.m. until after 11. It's been hectic, and I'm definitely starting to feel the sleep deprivation, but I'm having fun.

Things are absolutely insane so far. We're all working long days, and we started rehearsal for the first show to open two days ago. It's exciting because we're already off book on two out of the three acts. Things move, really, really fast here. In addition to acting, I'm also working in the shop, and as of today we've got nearly all of the first two shows built. There was a lot of alterations today, and we only got half-way through the big stuff, but we should be able to pick up the pace and finish tomorrow.

It's been interesting walking around town (all one street of it), because there's a huge flea market in town. Some of the weirdest people I've ever seen in my life have been walking around, and the town that normally has about two cars driving through at rush hour is absolutely packed.

I'll try and update on Monday, which is my first morning off.

Monica! My name is Jeff White, I'm a graduating senior at ISU. I didn't know that you were going to Brownville, I spent a summer there two years ago. Add me on Facebook, I'd love to talk to you about it, I miss that town pretty hard.
