I'm very sorry but we don't allow anyone with the names Matt and/or Jane in this establishment.

During the week I came in to work on some scrapbooks. Comedy Sportz opened in 1984, and as such they have nearly 30 years of pictures. It has become my job to organize them! I categorized the photos by year and then date, and have been placing them in albums chronologically, labeling the year.
I parked this weekend, and had some interesting experiences. The one related to the title involved some mischievous customers who had friends named Matt and Jane coming to the show. They told me to give them crap, so naturally, I told them they weren't allowed in due to some trivial incidence that I made up. They actually rolled with it and suggested they change their names to Fazika and Shodra for the remainder of the show, which I promptly agreed to.
I like to adopt a southern auctioneers accent when greeting a large party, speak very quickly, and accuse them of either not having a confirmation number or blatantly lying to me when they make up a number. I also like to throw something in there about the guests previous illegal activity and how this is a government-run establishment and I cannot permit them on the premises. Most laugh, a few look worried and reach for their purse in which case I give up the joke and usher them to a parking spot.
One group of people had a disabled member of their party who walked with a cane. He asked me to help him walk to the door, and I gladly offered my arm to escort him in true gentlemanly fashion. I made some small talk, he went inside and the party went about their way. I continued with my work, but saw him after the show. He came up to me and personally thanked me for assisting him, and gave me a large tip to boot. It reminded me that even the smallest of kind gestures can mean a lot to a person, and that we should always we willing and prepared to help those we can.

So this week's lesson, I believe is that we should be compassionate to others, and do our best to make them laugh. Over and out!
