Eve Himmelheber (former MT faculty): I continue to work at CSU Fullerton, Coordinating the Musical Theatre BFA program, and this summer served as the only undergraduate/transfer theatre advisor - very interesting, the people they are letting into this college (some frighten me to think that they drive on the same streets).

I just ended a stint as Irene Ryan Coordinator for Region VIII of KCACTF, and am looking forward to all my free time!!! What's that???

Still single...heavy sigh...

Hooking up with old students through Facebook and MySpace, and finding out how life has scattered us to the winds, and how well prepared these students were for life, the business, etc. Go ISU!

Missing my friends there - often remember fondly my two years in Iowa (except for the ice part...that I have nightmares about).

I'm auditioning (old lady roles now), and will be singing in the upstage chorus of LES MIS IN CONCERT at the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in a week (8/8 - 8/10). Should be a blast!

Joe, my son, is now 22 and will graduate in December with an Electrical Engineering degree (please, God, let him graduate in December?). He's been working as an intern for Parker Electronics for two years now, and really wants to stay in the aerospace industry. We're getting along famously, and I really couldn't be ANY prouder of the boy!

All my best to my friends in Cyclone land,

eve

The group (Centarius Media Group) that I just done filming a feature length independent film with (The Yin of Gary Fisher's Life) took part in the Des Moines 48 Hours Film festival. The reviews so far have been quite high...take a look:

Also, I will be moving (with Amanda) to Baton Rouge in about a week to attended LSU to get my masters in acting!

I will keep you posted!

I moved to New York City in February.

I have just finished playing Christopher Wren in 'the Mousetrap' for the Theater Barn in New Lebanon (north of the Big Apple).

Previously in New York I played Valentine Coverly in 'Arcadia' and Dr Fawcett in'Beyond the Horizon'; both for very, very, very small theatre companies. I also did a small short film called 'Avant Garde' which won Best Picture (short) at the Connecticut Film Festival; and a small tv pilot filmed in Boston.

Right now I'm auditioning, and working on the play 'Recent Tragic Events' and a small sci-fi mini series in Fairfield, CT; called Echo 49.

None of these I see taking me far; but it's great to keep working as an actor and to be adding to my resume.

New York City has so many great opportunities to audition; and it's a wonderful place to live. I love it here.

Also I would seriously recommend to anyone looking for headshots to use Paige Peterson in Des Moines. Her quality of headshots are better and so much cheaper, than most of those working in New York; unless you want to pay $1,500 plus.

I plan to return to England next February; and see how far my resume will take me. While there I will save up money; and apply for the 1 year training program at the Bristol Old Vic.

So I have a two and a half year plan... sort of...

Hope everything is going well in Iowa; and I will try to see you guys before I leave.

xx

So, after I graduated, I decided to try and get into grad school for theatre. Unfortunately, I realized that after two failed URTA auditions, that Acting was no longer for me. It took me a full year to realize what I really wanted to do. It was a terribly tough decision, but it was a decision I'm glad I made, and it made me realize my true passion in life...teaching.

I moved to Chicago last year after being accepted to Columbia College of Chicago for their M.A.T. program (Master's in Arts and Teaching). I just finished my first year, and have one year remaining. When it's all said and done, I will be certified to teach K-8 (any subject) and I will also be pursuing a High School Theatre endorsement.

I bartend at a seafood restaurant downtown (and for those of you who really don't know me, I'm horribly allergic to seafood...don't ask). I love living in the city, and from the time I post this, I will find out in the next twelve hours if I got my new apartment.

I will be finishing up my last year here in Chicago, then teaching at a school who will hire me. Other than that, I'm loving Chicago and everything it has given me.

I don't miss Theatre, just the people who were a part of it. I'll try and keep everyone posted in the next year when I finally get a real job. For those who have my number, give me a ring. For those who don't...well...figure it out.

MUCH LOVE FROM CHICAGO!

After graduating I moved to Williamsburg, Virginia where I worked as a stage manager in corporate entertainment for a theme park. I spent 1 1/2 years working for them before I realized that was not what I was wanting to do.

I left Virginia and moved back to Iowa. There I got a job with Venueworks which runs a theatre and an event arena (much like the Iowa State Center). I got a chance to work some very fun shows and meet some wonderful performers.

Just recently (within this past week) I took a Production Assistant (Assistant Stage Manager) job at Kentucky Repertory Theatre. I started that on Tuesday. I am currently in rehearsal with Abraham Lincoln and Cash on Delivery. Soon we will add To Kill a Mockingbird, Amadeus, King Lear, and Southern Belles.

I am having a blast and getting experience working with Equity performers.

Chris Mannes (2000? Alumni): Living in the twin cities, working for a overly large health company as a development manager.

Was doing lighting and on the board for a small community theater. But we managed to burn ourselves out.

Still attending a lot of theater, but sadly not working on as much of it.

Kim Chelf here, after graduating in May I moved to Chicago and after a month and a half of hating the city I got a position as assistant to the Artistic Director at American Theater Company. I'm a bit biased but I think ATC is the hottest up and coming theatre in the city. Our season budget jumped from 600,000 to 1.2 million this year and we are getting lots of press with our new (and Jeff nominated) Artistic Director. CNN will be covering our first show of the season The Peoples' Temple by the writers of the Laramie Project. It is about Jim Jones and the events in Jonestown. I've seen rehearsals and the show is very powerful.

I also was in need of some supplementary income and was looking for a second job, when another opportunity at ATC presented itself. So, I am also the Box Office Manager for the company. I guess they like me.

I'm also filming a TV pilot at the moment. We will be finishing episode one tomorrow and moving onto the second and third episodes in the next few weeks.

I moved out of my studio apartment last week and into a two bedroom apartment with Malary Harris, a fellow ISU grad, and I'm finally starting to love the city.

Best of luck to everyone in Ames and beyond!
-Kim

After graduating in 2005, I promptly removed myself from the Theatre world and began pursuing my Masters degree in Higher Education at Iowa State.

I have recently (May) finished my degree, and immediately began working as an Academic Advisor in the College of Design here at ISU.

I am hoping to stay in Ames for a while and pay off some of my student loans while eventually (2-5 years from now) beginning work on a PhD in Counseling Psychology or Higher Education... or both!

Anyway, it's a path that doesn't have much to do with theatre, but it is one that I have found interesting and fun!

Best of luck to all of you in finding your own path!
